Nestled in the heart of Cornwall, this Georgian country house exudes a timeless charm. From the moment I stepped foot on the large estate, I felt like I was transported to a fairytale castle by the sea. The award-winning spring gardens were a sight to behold, with vibrant blooms that rival even the most picturesque paintings. As I embarked on coastal walks along the South West Coastal Path, I couldn't help but feel like I was walking on a path of dreams. The cottage, Gilly Vean, provided a tranquil escape, with its beautiful private bedrooms and separate kitchen. The traditional cooked breakfast served in the elegant dining room was a delightful way to start my days. These cherished memories will forever be etched in my heart.
Twisting, narrow lanes made finding nearby dining options a bit challenging.

The food was absolutely fantastic and well presented. the chefs did an outstanding job and we felt like we were dining at a private dinner party. the hospitality of the hosts was top-notch, they were friendly and approachable. the house itself was warm and beautifully furnished, with comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms. the location was breathtaking, with stunning surroundings and a nearby scenic beach. We also loved the free pass for parking at the beach.
The twin bedded room we stayed in was quite small and only had space for one chair. It would have been nice to have individual tables for breakfast, as we prefer a more private dining experience.

I felt like royalty staying at a castle by the sea, with beautiful gardens and access to stunning beaches. I even had the option of hiring a private chef for a special meal. The coastal walks were a lovely bonus.
Such a shame there were no restaurants within a short drive, as I do love a good evening meal out.

We had a wonderful weekend at The Vean. The rooms were tastefully renovated, clean, and had expensive appointments. The view from our room overlooking the fields was like a masterpiece painting. Luke greeted us warmly and even carried our bags to our rooms. The Cornish tea with homemade scones was a delightful touch. The breakfast served in the splendid dining room was delicious. The beach was only a 5-minute drive away and had hidden coves. The beach cafe served fresh and delicious food at reasonable prices. Can't wait to return!
Strongly recommend this hotel.
